peugeot 806 dead as a dodo

Post by eaglesalz »

Hello, I went out in my 806 diesel 2001, no problems, run ok, parked up for a few hours, returned went to start and nothing not even a splutter. Called breakdown (polish man arrives) squirts some easystart in the tube and it firesup, but only on easystart. Man says no fuel getting through. Towed back to home and call out mobile mechanic who puts computer on and its says no fuel pressure. New pump fitted inline, fuel pumps up to all the pipes on engine but not through to injectors. Key when put into ignition the little red light goes out on dash, engine turns over, keys checked on computer for code and it reads code. The main key is the type that folds into itself and has 2 small buttons on side. A few times the little light on dash looks like a engine comes on so pulled over and turned it off and then restarted and ligh does not come on. Any ideas, thanks jeff.

hi Jeff and welcome

i dont know what engine/fuel system your 806 has,

but it could be either the immobilisers or the fuel shut off solenoid,

if it has the armored immobilisers on the back of the fuel pump this will have to be removed to get at the shut off solenoid,

were are you located

2001 is highly likely to be a HDi, as far as I'm aware they did not offer the DW8 in this model, although they may of done for none UK specification vehicles.

AFAIK they only had 4 diesel engines in total for all 4 minivan`s - 1.9TD and 2.1 TD (XUD9 and XUD11) and 2 litre HDi 8v (DW10 ATED) and 2 litre HDi 16v (DW10 BTED4) ; the 8v was only around for about a year to 18 months before being replaced by the 16v in 2001

Ah yes could be non UK models. I could hear it was an 11 before I saw it, access looks a bit tight though.

I remember seeing a DW8 in a Spanish reg'd 406 once :D , although my tech data indicates it was not fitted but it looked too 'neat' to be a home brewed thing, plus not the best choice of unit to drop in in that case...

you can always look on pug service box selecting different country's , then look at engine types in various models
