Research on emotional attachment to your car or products.
Hi all,
My name is Tom, I am currently in my final year studying Automotive Design at Coventry University and I conducting research into emotional attachment into cars to implement into a design for my final project.
Here are two surveys:
(For people who own cars)
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ZNP7G58" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
(For people who don't - product focused)
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/HCL9PWW" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Just answer as many questions as you can/want to. And if you really want do both surveys! All the data collected will be anonymous.
Im sure I will get some very rich data from you guys and am looking forward to seeing some finished surveys. If there is anything you want to ask me about the survey or my project please do not hesitate, I am very keen to talk about why you love your cars!
Many thanks
Tom

Re: Research on emotional attachment to your car or products
Whats the inducement?
Life times worth of free beer?
Holiday of our choice?
Years worth of fuel (only for V6 owners)?
Voucher for a Swiss cheese covered burger from a well-known high st chain, a McAlpine?
Bottle of homebrewed parsnip & nettle wine?
None of the above?

It only takes a short time to fill out and Tom was polite enough to ask us admins if it would be OK to post before he did so.

What about Activa owners? Our needs are greater you know...handyman wrote: Years worth of fuel (only for V6 owners)?

Haha I wish I could provide some inducements...if you give me your address I could stretch to a tin of beans/soup each??
As for the Activa owners, I'm sure you will find something to your liking at the degree show in May!
Just had to make an amendment to the putting in a new URL...I have a limited number of responses before my free survey account stops people answering.
Thanks for all the help so far, really useful stuff!

Re: Research on emotional attachment to your car or products
Jim, a minor abberation on my part, sorry, as I am currently Activa less, but not for long. I have plans about one of my old Mk2s that will be coming back to Daddy.
Dunn the surveys, where's the beers?
H
Hope its not an Activa engine stuffed in another car like a 205. That will really get Andrews goat up. And we dont want the bodywork hacked about with either into some sort of Spam can!tomcovuni wrote: As for the Activa owners, I'm sure you will find something to your liking at the degree show in May!

All the best with this survey Tom. I'd be interested in due course to know something of your findings
You need to speak to my eldest daughter who's at Uni in Aberystwyth; she'll teach you how to cook properly on a student budget!tomcovuni wrote: I could stretch to a tin of beans/soup each??

My thoughts EXACTLEY.... that awfull TCT engine uses soooo much fuel for a 4 pot its probably responsible for the global warming. Even I think the PSA V6 is ok on fuel for 6 pots...CitroJim wrote:What about Activa owners? Our needs are greater you know...handyman wrote: Years worth of fuel (only for V6 owners)?

Yes, I did it too. No problem at all..citroenxm wrote:Ive just done it, its quick and simple...
Paul, I love the TCT engine. I must do. Two of my cars are powered by them

Yea I know you do! Its a shame all the Black XMs have the TCT in them too... Yours and mine did too..
Mind you, we can always pull it out and throw it away and put in a much nicer TD or HDi in..

Or run it on LPG. That gets over both the thirst and the environmental issues Paul. Although having said that the TCT is a very clean engine according to MOT emission tests...citroenxm wrote: Mind you, we can always pull it out and throw it away and put in a much nicer TD or HDi in..
Umm, an XM HDi is a very tempting prospect - shame they never made one...
I wonder if an ES9 V6 and HP20 might drop into an S1.5? Now that would be lovely!

Almost Franklin.. the prv is a 90 deg as it started out as a v8 design in the 70s but lost two cylinders due to French tax laws on large engines.. so the prv does do a damm good v8 sound.. more so on single point lpg
