That sounds about right uncle buck for the mpg , my wifes old 1.9 dci was virtually identical to yours mpg wise , only a slight drop in the winter months . I know alot of people have had bother with the 1.9dci but ours was an absolute peach , pretty powerful and great mpg , probably the best alround car we have owned being an estate too . We sold it to a work colleage and he loves it and has expressed an interest in our Laguna III estate when it comes to changing that .

Re: Laguna 3 DCi Advice
@ KP,
Is the EGR valve multi plug connected ?
I ask as when trying to get rid of the EGR valve on my car I disconnected the multi plug to it, it didn't put up any warning lights so I just left it unplugged...it took a few weeks to realise that the mpg had dropped to around the 30 mark despite the computer figures staying the same.
I wanted the EGR valve disconnected as there was a noticeable slight hesitation when driving the car. This was apparent when pulling away and accelerating gently, the hesitation was around the 1500 rpm area if I remember correctly.
So I now have the EGR valve still connected but rotated through approx 180°in its hole. This still allows the valve to open as it should but because the ports are misaligned it stops the gasses getting through, this has cured the hesitation. The only down side of this is that only 1 bolt hole lines up, you can however put a washer on one of the other bolts so it presses on the flange of the valve. I have had the valve like this for a few years now with no problems.
@ bxzx16v,
I've seen the pictures of your old Laguna Dci Privilege Tourer, lovely clean car, I wouldn't have minded that myself.
To be honest with you the only reason I bought the Laguna was because it had a sunroof
....I knew nothing about them other than they were cheap for what they were...I've since learned that they can be problematic....I've had a few problems, mainly with the speedo going mental in cold weather (Motorola MC68HC908AZ60 processor) and a failing ABS pump, other than that the car has been ok.
Cheers.
