xantia timing belt

I have had a quote off a garage for fitting a new one 125£ is this a cedent price
It's not a main dealer, and he did say he would have to osyche himself up as he doesn't like doing belts!

Which engine is it for, they differ quite a bit.

I've just had mine done as well as having the new front exhaust pipe fitted. Cost me £115 at a local garage. Mine was a 1.9TD.
Ring round a few garages and see what prices you get.

it should be around 2 hours labour and about a tenner or so for the belt

My local garage charged £30 labour to change the timimg belt here in Nottingham. That was for my brothers Peaugeot 306 TD, which has the same engine. The charges vary from car to car - but I don't think he would charge more then £60.

The local Cit dealer just quoted me £399.99 to change the cam belt on my V6. Wont be going there then[xx(]
