The handbook says Total Transmission BV

75W-80 (New Formula)

can anyone suggest an equivelant please as Total transmission oils dont seem to be available anymore, not round here anyway.

and the correct quantity for the gearbox if at all possible please?

1.7 litres for a BE3 Nigel.

Good equivalents are made by Comma and Valvoline. The Comma ones states it's for certain Pug and Cit boxes.

Don't use anything else unless you like wearing synchro cones and stirring cold treacle!

I have managed to get hold of Total BV 75W80 oil from Citroen dealerships recently without any problems (last 3 months). IIRC it cost me £16 for 2 litres. CitroJim would probably know quantities (or where to look). If the manuals say use BV 75W80 do not use anything but, as that can make some gearboxes become terminally sick.
