Have I just been unlucky or is this the norm? When I bought my 406 the CD player in the radio didn't work, I bought a secondhand replacement and that didn't either, well only briefly, the one in my latest C5 doesn't either, is this something common to Peugeot/Citroen radios? I have tried cleaning the laser with no effect.

Re: C5 car radios
It is not uncommon for early C5 radios to play up. Most of them no longer turn on and off with the button, I have one radio in the garage which lost the ability to play the radio and threw another which didn't play CDs.

Thanks Paul, I was beginning to come to that conclusion. I have a Pioneer unit in the other C5.

Throw in a box of medium tone needles and he'll be sold on it.
It's interesting; the radio fault is one found here also - most UK faults don't cross over so readily and I therefore ascribe to the damp. Have people experienced any joy unplugging and replugging the connections a few times? (That worked for the Alfa's ESP gyro sensor.)
