C5 Electric Seat Problem & Evil Cabin Heater

Unread post by jwalshe »

Hi everyone!

Wonder if you can help me regarding my dad's 2003 C5 diesel.

1) Both front seats (leather/electric) no longer go back or forth. They go up and down and recline but when you push the switch to go forwards/backwards, you can hear the motor grumble but nothing happens.

2) The heater occasionally decides to roast the passenger - with hot air coming out the vent, despite the temp knob being set to cold.

Any ideas chaps? Would really appreciate your help!

Kindest regards,

James

Point 2 is the flap servomotor. It may have stripped out the driven portion of the flap lever arm.

Point 1 I am not sure on; have you tried "helping" the seat to move?

Hi addo. The heater issue is only occasional. Usually it's alright but every few journeys the car decides to throw hot air out of the passenger side vents and can't be controlled. Yep - tried giving the seats a shove - but it's weird that the problem is with BOTH front seats!
