Xantia LHM leak

Unread post by Stunned Monkey »

Morning all.

Just arrived at work with the stop light on, and LHM pi$$ing out from the front left corner of the car, literally at the bumper - which is a bit of an odd place I think.

There's green on the bulkhead under the battery tray but I can't see anywhere else obviously wet. I'm wondering about the underside of the LHM tank?

The car went in for a clutch and steering knuckle 2 weeks ago, so a lot would have been move/removed in the engine bay.

Suggestions please! Probably going to get the RAC to recover it to CPS in Bradford on Avon where the clutch was done but would like some ideas. Forwarned is forarmed!

Hmmm a real step BACKWARDS! Series One cars have a larger bore pipe plus a Citroen Flare at the rack end, and was coated... but S2 cars have a thinner supply pipe and and Flare at the Rack end is a Standard Brake pipe type flare with NO citroen seal! So the supply pipes are not interchange able, BUT S2 pipes are an in between size that is 4.5mm.

Ive got this job now on mums Y reg 2001 Xantia... However, I cant do a joint, it has rotted through right on the Elbow after the rubber pipe part..

Aha - and given they sorted the passenger side steering drumstick at the same time as the clutch, that could well have been disturbed.

Thanks for the responses gents!
