Hi Mate

There is noise coming from the motor and it seems to be trying to lift the window but it won't go up.

Whatever you do, don't do what I did and wreck the whole bloody affair by getting angry with it.

Honestly - I don't know the answer, but sure got fired up wrestling with it. If the car's a good 'un generally, it's worth having it looked at professionally, IMO.

My problem at the time with M289 was the rear o/s passenger door window. Never got it sorted, just lived with it.

Gone, but never forgotten...

Sounds as though the cable has broken, I think you can still get repair kits from ebay. Yes you can:

Is it an hard job to do ?.
Also the rear door panel has a few bits missing like the speaker grill and the door lever...can these parts be sourced seperately or will i need a complete door card?

Will be taking the front door card off in the morning and hope its just the cable.

Thanks For the advice guys, and thanks for the link Peter :)

It depends on your DIY skills, its fairly straightforward but a bit fiddly, you have to take the motor assembly out of the door first, Have you got a Haynes manual, if not I would get one.

You may get the door bits from a breaker but you will probably have to buy a complete panel , if its the wrong colour you can change the bits over.

I would think that the fitting would be the same but the trim might be different.
