Service Manual on DVD

Unread post by Graham55 »

Hi,

Has anybody purchased this:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0778881083" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'm thinking of getting one as the Haynes manual is useless.

Any positive/negative comments appreciated.

Hi Graham, just noticed your post thought it looked very helpful for my C5 55Reg 1.8 Design Petrol/ LPG

Will let you know what it's like when I get it next week!

Cheers, Chrisso.

Umm, could be interesting. It'll be a rip-off for sure and more interesting is the tricks you might have to play on it to make it run...

Do please post your experiences of this item...

It even covers the XM :-D

To quote the eBay advert: "Most vehicle issues are not really about what may be wrong more to do with knowing for certain how parts are fitted".

Hmmm!

Maybe it's a matter of translation, but in my book "knowing for certain how parts are fitted" isn't the same as knowing exactly how to do a particular job.

And like Jim I'm sceptical about what problems there might be in getting it to run - and I won't buy pirated copies of software/data.

Interesting responses.

The fact that his feedback shows the disks do work and are readable is a plus.

If Chrisso has ordered, I will wait for his comments after he receives his copy.

The pictures in the ad look really good, far better than the Haynes heap of rubbish.

The Haynes manual made me laugh when having a read the weekend. As you probably know it rates different tasks with spanners, easy is one spanner, don't try it unless your qualified is four spanners.

To remove the inlet manifold is two spanners. Therefore you assume a simple job. The first instruction in removing the inlet manifold is 'Remove turbo charger as described is Section xxx' When you go there it is rated as four spanners !! So how can they rate the inlet manifold as two spanners when the first task is a four spanner !!

Isn't the Haynes range known as the 'BoL'? (Book of Lies)

A well-deserved epithet too.
