Anyway, it needs replacing and luckily they're still available and not too expensive at just under twenty quid. It's a bugger to replace it though as it hides down the back of the engine and the expansion tank has to come out to be even able to see it. It may be a manifold off job... I'm anxiously awaiting a call from my local stealer to say it's in.
Apart from that all is good and the Activa is currently the daily driver.
You may have noticed I have a post in For Sale/Wanted regarding my spares cache. This has come about through a necessity to make fairly fundamental changes to my life. Some of you already know that things have not been perfect for a while and that my heavy spannering days may well be over
Luckily for me it is fairly mild by ME standards and at present I can still work full-time (the most important thing) so long as I rest adequately in between which effectively means doing nothing much in the evenings and very limited stuff at weekends. If I overdo it then I can suffer badly for days on end - as I have this weekend following a very rough week at work. To this end I've not been as active on here as I'd like and due to the cognitive problems associated with ME I often have the attention-span of a geriatric goldfish and reading and replying in the technical areas of this forum becomes almost impossible. Work, which I must do to earn a living, has to take top priority as does looking after myself. After doing that there's not much of me left these days.
That's the background against which I'm having to undertake some major changes to my life. First up is to clear the garage/workshop substantially so that some major changes can happen to make the house and garden more maintenance-free so that more time can be taken to rest and gently pursue pleasurable things like Citroens. I'm planning a new workshop in the garden so the garage can be used for its proper function of garaging the Activa. Please, if you can help with my spares rehoming problem I will really appreciate it
In no way am I giving up on cars, just cutting back to manageable proportions. I'd go mad without my workshop and Citroens
So that is why I've not been to ICCR and why the next rally I'll attend will be CXM. I doubt I'll make Stratford.
And on that note, I'm now off to bed, quite knackered. I won't sleep well and will wake up in the morning feeling more tired than I do now.
