C5 III My Way satnav map update?

The SD card in my C5 says "2009/10". I have no desire to update every year, but occasional updates would be useful as there are a few new roads here and there.

Does anyone happen to know the "release cycle" - it would be frustrating to buy one in August if the new versions are released in (say) September. I guess I should be after a 2012/13.

Also, do I just trundle off to my local dealer and pay their asking price or is there another way? I don't want an illegal copy or fleabay pirate, but if there are genuine suppliers offering a discounted price it would be nice.

to see the various options available..... but I don't think you'll like them !
I seem to remember that the official Citroen Sat Nav data is never particaularly up to date - perhaps a year old at best. Last time I looked I think the official 'up to date' Citroen Sat Nav SD card for my C5 III was over £100, but my main stealer doesn't list it now.

Is there any way that this can be put in a DS5? Would it be safe. I don't want to cripple the satnav.
It doesn't have a SDHC slot but has a usb port. Or maybe put on a disc as I did with my C5.
