xantia v6 probs

Post by louis1 »

I have a couple of smallish problems one is when you start the engine when warm the engine hunts for a while (15 secs) sometimes it even stalls when hunting. The other is sometimes i turn the key to start the car and all you hear is a tick but engine wont turn so i keep trying it and after a few turns on the key it will start. Any ideas?
Thanks Louis

Hunting could be the air bypass valve. The non starting could be a dodgy start inhibitor relay, this packed up on mine.

The relay is a brown one in the engine bay fuse box, next to the pink one. Easy to replace. Air bypass valve ass'y is attatched to the throttle body and has a three pin connector on the top. Not so easy to replace and not really fixable as it seems to be a sealed unit.
