rear end shunt
is it possible that a rear end crash would cause suspension trouble, hit by van in rear two weeks ago and suspension hasnt been the same since bent, tow bar and tailgate, suspension dosnt come up on its own, and drops as i drive

See my other post regarding broken height corrector - it's very possible that the ball link has jumped off during the shunt, which will give you some of the symptoms you describe.
Oh, and <b>DON'T</b> get under the car and start dicking with the HC <i>unless</i> it is properly supported on ramps or stands so that it can't squash you[:D]
