One other thing i was wondering about? if you disassemble/mangle pump and removing armoring as i take it to rebuild it you have to remove immobilizer form it to gain access how do you refit it?

The immobiliser attaches to to stop solenoid via a ring connector and a 7 or 8 mm nut.

Hi peter thanks for that. Mind you might not get that far as it's leaking quite a bit now that ive put diesel in to top up.
I will ring them tomorrow.
The pin hole in return area is that in pump end or that banjo bit with alen key fixing where injector returns go to and is there any loose bits to watch out for if removing to check to see if blocked extra.

Yes, that's where it is... Undo the big hex and a normal banjo is revealed...

Just trying to find someone the replace pump now that don't want the earth localish? to me as since topped it up with pump diesel the leak seems more i guess as thinner?.
How far could i drive it for like this or will it get into T belt?.it has blown a bit to side by inner arm bush area.
As if it is ok but leave a little puddle when switched off say for while which was say around 4-5" across would it get worse or just stay like this and get fixed when get back from dorset.
Also would it be just that seal/gasket on top or would there be others going/gone also someone i spoke to yesterday who has a garage was saying about doing that seal instead of getting another pump or am i better just going for replacement pump?.
As i guess both need unarmouring either way and both need to be removed from car but one could have i guess more bits and good be good as from citroen breakers.but they normally know there stuff?.

As if i scrap car(probably more than it's worth on market but to me priceless)what do i replace it with that's not £££££'s plus once you change they shaft you on insurance as not continuous ownership. and what you replace with how well do you know it?
What i like about this as not the prettiest few marks/bumps and scrapes but none be me is i can say go fishing etc lock it up and not have to worry if someones scratches/marks it and no one bothers it unlike with a few £££££ outside say buy a bmw for instance forever curtain twitching worrying if anyone is touching it.

Personally I'd be very worried about driving it like that Oscar. It can only get worse. Although diesel in open air is pretty hard to burn, I'd be dead scared of the potential fire-risk. I diagnosed a diesel leak on the HP side of an HDi the other day (it was a tiny split in the pipe between the HP pump and fuel rail) and the owner spoke of seeing smoke rising from the engine bay... That was, along with the smell, how he realised there was a problem...

So please, find someone local... Don't risk it...

Hi Jim thank you for your concern. Yes i'd love to get someone local but guy that was giving me all talk about doing it yesterday and would ring and give me a price has it seams forgotten how to use a phone?
The other one i said to him that it was ok the cars paid for and the tank was already full and don't need new tyres for that price?.lol.
I don't have lots of cash to spend but don't mind paying someone as long as reasonable.
My friend would do it but one it's outside so at mercy of weather.two he is 80 now so it's getting a bit bit much to expect him to do quickly etc which brings me to three not sure if we start that it will be done by next week etc with weather etc and trying to do unarmouring etc.Unless can get that done somewhere first so can fit on?.
We could do rest between us as we did mechanicing as he had garages and i did many of his cars for/with him.
That problem you speak of is one good thing i guess that its not on the HP side so not under any pressure as thats when you have a problem with diesels and can combust/ignite? and HDI/common rails are worse for that with new higher pressures that we have now as xud's are a bit of a clunker in that way.still im happy with mine.

Bought a new fuel bulb @8mm but first bit is nearer 9.5mm so he thinks will split pipe trying to get it in.as OE is 8mm straight.Why can't life be easy?

Hi guy's well had to live with leak as couldn't get done before but it has stopped leaking so much now just a tiny bit on floor when left.

But anyway i have the other pump to replace with looking at Armour plate theres 2 anti tamper bolts on it one is holding cover and lower one looks like it stops you removing back plate and not plate so do i just need to drill out one bolt?
round side of pump block side theres a roll pin does that interfere with removal or just something in the plate? i guess once ive drilled/hammered/cacked it up i just undo all the other bolts round it then remove or do i have to do it in any sequence?
Plus i do have a pic/photo of pump end i can post up but how do i do on here?. It is a 601-5 version so i guess would be a key fob/chip type if any different to a key pad type?.

Well got the armour plating off armour being the operative word.
My one don't follow that file jim sent me as ive a roll pin or did! on top of plate which went through fueling bolt at end of pump above solenoid.I gave it a taste of the disc cutter and that sorted it out as too hard to drill out.
I only had two shear bolts short one that just held it to back plate and other went through into distributor head which i run disc over so like a crosshead screw.
I take it that the wire for stop solenoid is only one wire/core which i'l pick up one of the wires in black plug that goes live?
The plastic plug with wire that's on top of solenoid does that come off or is it a permanent fixing?

If the pump is VP20 AC3 semi auto pump it is black plastic push cover for the wiring to stop solenoid and immob is built into the armour.

I have spare one in the garage from my fun with these pumps
