Unread post by DannyB »

Just wondering which diesel engine is in these and are they reliably diy service friendly etc? I need something cheap, cheerfull and reliable to replace my zx dt. Was thinking picasso but now swaying towards scenic

Pretty reliablu lump, used to be in everything Renault in that era, main thing to check is for head gasket.
The MK1 Scenic is very prone for rust though, check front chassis rails for bubbling sealer, and brake pipes are usually rotten at the rear.
Picasso is better tbh

Hi DannyB
The Citroen Picasso 2l HDi is by far best car ie. Better on fuel ,Better looks & more comfortable than the Renault Scenic as i have owned both of these cars and would choose the Picasso everytime.

Cheers,

I took all your advise on board and still got a Scenic lol, After looking at many picaso's and Scenic our budget was bottom end of the market and most of the picassos had lots of damage very high miles and 90 % mouldy interior not just a bit either dash, belts covered in spores!!!

Same money got us a low mileage phase 2 top spec rust free scenic so fingers crossed lol

Nothing wrong with a scenic DannyB, I've had 3 last one was written off, no major problems at all just the odd usual car problems, and will get another one as well. :-D
