Are you being serious? I'm not sure what to think, given you're a member of an SEO website and quite a few car forums. :?

Disconnect the battery and leave it for at least a few minutes for the circuit to
completely discharge before proceeding and attempting to remove the airbag or
its wiring as apparently, backup power supply in it's control unit could result in
an accidental deployment and possible injury. Not sure about this 'latent' power
myself but it always pays to be careful!! lol

Absolutely the correct procedure. I've followed this many times and never had a problem.

It's also very important that the airbag is not subject to any shocks during removal/refitting. Also store it somewhere safe if it's going to be off the car for any period of time. I normally take them indoors and pop them in a quiet corner..

Is it definitely the steering wheel that is the issue and not the wheel alignment being done without centering the steering wheel first?

Rughtho - I see where addo is coming from - SEO is search engine optimisation which is all about web links
and ranking in the google etc search pecking order so Adam is looking at the thread much more than the rest
of us all are? No harm letting folks know about safe airbag removal though!! Where is this quiet place in
your place Jim if it's chock full of females... lol
