Chevrons on the bonnet when?

This L plate Xantia puzzles me, as I thought this year had the chevrons on the bonnet?

Perhaps it has had a replacement front end.

dont listen to uk registration for age! or take any notice! in theory though the chevrons are on the bonnet when theres No air bag! in general K reg and Early L reg cars... now i said dont listen to uk reg for age because i have a W reg xantia in but the actual car ahould be an S or a T as the rp is older then mine and so are the parts for example the drop links are for older cars.. they changed on V you see.

Going back to L reg cars.. they are NOT all sinkers either. ive also got an L reg. no air bag chevrons n the bonnet but it IS an anti sinker..

ive also see an L reg with Air bag and chevrons in the grill...

Its about switch over time on an L plate so quite likely for it to be original, it has an airbag too. Its also LHD and I would guess the LHD cars got the revisions a little earlier.

My S1 Xantia is on a 98 S plate, so should really be a S2, which has caused some interesting comments but I have not had issues with getting parts. It was built almost two years before it was registered.
