C5 Rideheight

Unread post by kettlesimon »

Just bought a 2004 C5 2.0HDi. car is fine but i noticed today that after carrying a couple of passengers, when we got out of the car it was riding very high. It settled down after a minute or so and felt fine as i was driving. Is this a problem? I only ask as i am off to France next week (fully ladened up) and dont want a breakdown over there

Hi Simon, I hope your C5 is still running well with no warning lights?

The ride height, it will lift up once you take weight out of the car and as soon as you open or close a door it should level back to normal height again.

Was the ride still too high when you were driving or just when parked and after having got out?

I would agree, sounds like normal behaviour.

Mine does that when I get home from work each night, after I get out the back end lowers to what looks a normal height.

Yes car still fine Chris, with no lights thanks.

I have observed it again over the last day or so and perhaps i was worrying about nothing. It feels fine when driving and soon settles down when stopped. Just takes a while to get used to the Citroen way of things after a number of years driving "normal" cars.

Thanks all for the advice anyway.
