Xantia activa problems with height

Unread post by robin92 »

Hi!
I have xantia activa it has been difficult to find normal driving mode, have to trick it by raising it to the top while it is in the process raise you put the lever on the normal.
It's just like the plastic arm would be loose, but no I have looked. The reglage has not jammed.

Look on the picture not normal, front is at the bottom

Is it just the front which does not return to normal?

Could be a sticking front height corrector.

I have cleaned the front regulator.
Can it be that I have mounted the regulator wrong?

When I drive it sink to bottom

It sounds like the arb isnt connecting with the height corrector if the car raises fine off of the manual control, has the plastic link popped off?

Arb?
plastic not popped off. Manually
Rasing work from bottom to high not from botton to normal. But from high to normal work. And when you drive it sink to bottom.

Anti-roll bar that the height corrector is linked to.
The link sometimes corrodes and breaks away or the clamp could be loose.

you loosen the clamp on the anti roll bar, but make sure the car is being raised by the wheels when you do this as the car can and will drop.

i'm sure there is a thread here with a much better explanation on how to do it, because i'm sure that was how i figured it out :)

maybe a pic of the part might show us how bent it is?
why?

I have moved it a little now, and now isnt the car in the bottom. About 2 fingers high
But the car will behave strangely, it rises not from lowest to normal

The manual linkage is adjusted by moving it up and down the rod that goes to the lever by your seat.
It is clamped to the rod by a 8mm bolt.

Looking at that image, see the arm that comes out of the actual height corrector? It has a square cut out and the manual linkage has a nub on the side of it which fits inside that square cut out. At normal height that nub must be in the centre of the square cut out.

So to adjust the height disconnect the manual linkage from the rod so it cannot interfere, then adjust the clamp on the anti-roll bar to get the height right, then re-fit the manual linkage to the rod and make sure the nub is in the middle of the square cut out, then tighten it up.
