Kev/Jim, what time did Jim come down from the ceiling? He'd had at lest 4 red devil energy drinks and even was up on the dance floor.

I haven’t yet     In fact I'm just eyeing up another can of the stuff... hair of the dog....

was up at just after 7 this morning and that was a lie-in by my standards...

I have got to say both of your families are absolutely lovely. Never have I seen so many fantastic people assembled in one place before...

Well we got back this afternoon, it was a wonderful honeymoon to Gairloch. Although we didn't get to Skye (the road to the port was blocked for coaches due to an earlier land slip), we did go out on a boat and saw a pair of dolphins.
Unfortunately Haggis are now on the endangered species list, so the hunting of them is restricted and we weren't able to partake, but thankfully the hotel was able to source some from the black market *shhhhhhh!* ;)

Going through the post when I got home I received the renewal notice from Admiral, last year it was about £900 for 3 cars, this year they want just under £1200, so I'll be searching around for a better deal (which judging by Watchdog a few nights ago might be Admiral while pretending to be a new customer).

Welcome back Xac :-D

Now, the other trick to do with Admiral is to get a quote from them on the web, make a note of the reference and if cheaper ask them to match it....

They will as they're just trying it on first time round

Funny you should say that Jim, I've just gone through their online quote using the same info, and it came out at about £660.
Dropped Jenny and Juliet down to up to 1000 miles a year as I'm going to be selling Juliet once we sort out that rust patch, and Jenny is just going to sit on the drive unless I fancy a quick run in her or Cassy is off the road (then if needed I can swap mileages over) so no point paying for miles I'm not going to use, and now it's £605.
The original of £1186 includes £88 interest, so it'd be £1098 to compare as a one off payment. So nearly twice the new quote.
Will be calling them in a tic.

Had a productive afternoon and evening today :)
First job was finding where I'd put the pollen and oil filter, someone had tidied them away!
Once I found them and got some engine flush from Halfrauds, I had Cassy up on axle stands with the wheels off, flushed and drained her oil.
The MoT tester had said he thought the front pads were getting a bit low, and they've been squealing a bit.
They were down to about 4mm.
The new ones are Jurid from GSF, not only do they come with new wear sensors but also new bleed nipple covers and R clips.
Replaced the pollen filter, the old one was black as the ace of spades.

As there was plenty of daylight left and for a change it wasn't raining, I turned my attention to Jenny.
She's not run for a good 6 months or more, so I reconnected her battery, fitted my booster unit, primed the fuel bulb and turned the key.
The ECU light was on about half brightness, and no glow plug light was showing which I thought was strange.
Then it dawned on me, when I had the earthing issue on Cassy after her clutch change, I'd taken the double relay from Jenny to trouble shoot the issue with Cassy, so after a quick riffle through the back door pockets in Cassy and I had it refitted to Jenny.
Giving her two goes with the glow plugs she started straight away!
With her rear up in the air I took a metal saw to her spare wheel clamp as it had rusted solid (an old issue I'd never got round to replacing) and fitted one I'd got from the car Roger and I stripped, after making sure the threads were well greased.
I also fitted the rear bumper we'd stripped from the car so she's looking more complete.
Tomorrow, once I've done the household chores, if the weather behaves again, I'll whip off the front bumper and wings and replace them with the better condition ones from the stripped car.
Then it's bonnet, cambelt, oil change and MoT.
