Brake control valve

well lads
yet another problem the brake control valve has sprung a leak
so major that all LHM fluid has leaked out
how hard is it to change or is it likely that there is another problem.

Where's it leaked? Into the car, or onto the floor? If into the car, then probably just needs the rubber seal on the end replacing -Citronut says you can do it by releaseing the brake valve and pulling it back into the engine bay then rotating it carefully on the pipes. If onto the floor, then likely the return pipe has split on the valve - should just be able to cut it back and refit it.

its leaking out on to the ground from the back nearly of the unit its self

have you checked the plastic return pipe from that doseur valve, mine got a split in it & fuild everywhere, it's an easy job to repair if it's just that

sounds like the main return rubber pipe has split,

to fix this i usualy unvbolt the Doseur valve (brake unit fromt the bulk head, then gently turn it end to end till you can get at the rubber pipe were it conects to the underside of the Doseur valve,

now you can usualy cut a short bit off and reconect the pipe,

if its already been cut back i usualy cut a 3 or 4" inch length from the pipe and add a short length of metal/copper pipe to extend the original rubber pip

if the leak is pouring into the cab and front carpet you will require the parts below from citroen,

I hesitate to argue with an expert. but when faced with a flood of LHM from the lower Doseur leak-off pipe but I managed to remove the broken-off end of the plastic pipe by cutting through it lengthways, twisting it off, and then scraping the metal pipe stub clean with a long narrow screwdriver. My friendly local factor produced a 90° hard plastic joiner, a straight joiner and 6" of fuel pipe all the same diameter as the leak off pipe (. It was then a simple ,matter of cutting back the leak-off pipe to an appropriate point.

As far as I could see, the problem is caused by the leak-off pipe being bent through a sharp 90° putting a permanent sideways twist on the the soft plastic pipe so that after a number of years the metal stub on the valve block makes a split in it.

The resulting leak is huge because a number of leak-off pipes join together at a point below the top of the reservoir - when any of these fail, the combined leak-off from all them pours out of the break. Ideally, either each leak-off pipe would have its own separate entry to the reservoir or have a non-return valve close to where the pipes all join. 20/20 hindsight is a wonderful gift!

sorted it today a better look with bore scope it turned out to be the top pipe fitted a new piece of pipe and pushed the plastic pipe in it. awkward to get clip off wasn't able to get a new clip on but have been driving a bit and seems to be holding
