GSA insurance
My insurance on the GSA is due in about three months time, but 'money supermarket' have jumped the gun and sent me estimates for renewal , they range from £104.50 to £ 1908.00. The latter sounds a little over the top!! I think I might just ignore that one. Gerry

Re: GSA insurance
Amazing the spread you can find on quotes.
Did you enquire about 12 months ago about insurance. The reason they may have jumped the gun is that you asked for a quote about this time last year. I can think of many insurers that will guarantee a quote longer than 30 days.

Re: GSA insurance
Just bought a GSA after an absence of 18 years, and to my surprise I've managed to get a quote of £85 for insurance. Had to explain to my 20 year-old son that was for a year, not a month!

Re: GSA insurance
You really can't argue with that price.
Do please post some pictures of the car in a new thread. Cheers.

Re: GSA insurance
An old thread, but insurance is often a bone of contention with me.
Fully comp. with breakdown, social use, 3000mile pa.
One year ago insured through Grove & Dean,
policy £53, broker charge £36, total inclusive of IP tax - £89.
Renewal: policy £60.23 (13.6% increase), renewal transaction fee £45 (25% increase), total incl. £105.23 (18.2% increase overall).
So, off to 'Compare the Market'; Confused.com; & 'Go Compare'.
The Meerkats came up with £89, but no breakdown, that was £50.95 extra, total £139.95.
Confused £112 with breakdown, then as I was punching in the same details for Go Compare, Confused rang me asking if I'd been satisfied. "Not yet" says I, and matey suggested I tried Adrian Flux. I said I had never had a competitive quote from them even when a CCC member, but I agreed to let him patch my details through along with a call. 'Sophie' welcomed me and offered fully comp. classic cover, legal doo-dah, windscreen, breakdown with home start, EU cover for £92.70. - NO "administration" fees.
Deal.
Note: Adrian Flux had appeared in the listings on Confused, but with a policy price of £164. Worth talking on the phone.

Re: GSA insurance
Hi Guys, I do you all have a photo gallery, where I can stare and remember distant memories - a few of my memories I have from my first Citroen, a 1972 (?) GS 1220 Club in grubby white, such as points cassette was very expensive, converted it to electronic ignition and I filled the car with exhaust fumes because the heating pipes had fell off!

Re: GSA insurance
Always talk on the phone. I have to anyway as multi car (5 on one policy) isn't do-able online for me.Stonehopper wrote:Worth talking on the phone.

Next time she asks give her a Primus and a folding table . . . (May come as no surprise that I have been previously divorced).
