god dam brakes r gone (sort of)

hi there i have a 2002 c5 2.0 hdi lx and this evening i pulled up in the drive parked up and applied the handbrake but the hanbrake came all the way to the top, there is no pressure when i pull the handbrake up but once it reaches the top it does hold the car, i also had a look under the car and i cant see no fluid leaking as of yet but its dark out side lol anyone ever had this happen oh the main brakes seem to work fine but if you press hard on the foot brake it slowly goes to the floor n im totally puzzled and drastically running out of patience with this car so any help would be appreciated

You probably have a broken handbrake cable Paul. You will probably find that it is only working on one side.
