I bought two Activas off ebay.

A mauritius blue one for £595 from near Kings Lynn. It had a few issues but I drove it away. Parked it up on the way back to get fish and chips, when I came back it was leaning over to the left at a terrible angle. A good project though and I soon sorted it out.

The second was silver (now owned by Citroenmad) from Derby. Got it for £400. when I picked it up it was rough. Suspension hard and all over the place. Engine management light on when you put your foot down. I drove that one away very carefully and slowly all the way home. Spent some time on it and got it back in shape. Sold it to Xantiaman who sold it to Citroenmad.

I'd like to get another in the near future. If I get one with issues then I get more fun sorting it out.
Cheers, Kev

There is one with issues here that may be for sale, I know the seller will want around £700 with issues - for the simple reason that a full set of new Pleaides spheres he bought for it are in the boot, and they cost £300. It's had much work done on it. Needs carpets removing to dry out after heater job a while ago, it has MOT and tax until July. N Reg, Dante red one. Some laquer peeling on N/S wing. Dry rams. Jim's checked it out, reckons it just needs a good clean, spheres and general TLC and it will be a good one. I'm so tempted but I don't have time or energy due to health issues at the moment..

Oi, you calling me an idiot? I've bought two Activas (one being the original Rattiva) unseen now   One from the 'bay and one from somewhere else. Both went 'woof' originally but both, after a lot of work purred in the end.

Now I'd never buy a car unseen, especially from the 'bay, and didn't break that rule when I was looking to buy Rattiva II. Rattiva II was actually a lot sounder than described and had I bought unseen it would have been absolutely fine.

Indeed :-D I gave it a good once-over when I originally looked at Rattiva II and would have no hesitation in recommending it up. All it needs is TLC and some rather significant work has already been done on it. A good introduction to the joy of Activa and much better than a fleabay special.

Im bored with driving around the country looking at cars advertised as better than they are. On average it probably takes me around 4 views of different cars before I find the right one. I dont really like buying cars, im pretty picky with what I want and often what is described (even by private sellers through classifieds) is not what you are greeted with. I always find the car I want eventualy but I never relish the thought of having to find a car. Sometimes it can be easy which is enjoyable. Quite a few cars have been bought from friends or family and so that is always what I prefer to do. Though obviously that is rather limiting!

Im more than happy to buy cars from frequent forum users, and this Activa is a good one. I can only say thanks for doing the work you did with it :)

How near is the near future Kev? Or anyone else for that matter.

I'm thinking about selling my Activa. You're welcome to come and see it, in daylight, have a (gentle) poke, drive, bounce and what have you.

I've lost my job and can't afford to keep it anymore.

It is indeed. I will if I've still got it.
I don't really want to let it go as I like it, but there are a few things that need time and or money spent. I suppose I've got the time now, but no money.

I can't believe I didn't know about the East Midlands shindig at Baston last year. You all passed within a mile of Madvibe Towers.
And Barry at Bourne Citroen Centre looks after my car - when I can afford the fees - I wouldn't have minded a rummage in his workshop - ooer missus.
