My clutch cable snapped on the BX TZD and since that model wasn't imported into Australia, the locals are having a problem finding a replacement Citroen cable since they don't have a part number listing for the TZD.
I know the GSF catalogue lists the Turbo diesel and 16V as having the same cable (p/n N71514 CLUTCH CABLE BX 16V & TURBO D), but does anyone have the Citroen part number for these cables - are they the same?
You wouldn't believe it..the clutch in the 16V packed it in and 2 days later the TZD snapped it's cable...and I'm walking [xx(][xx(]

Roscoe,
The clutch cable on the 16V has a couple of great big counter weights on the gearbox end and this was the reason I didn't get one made in Australia; the guy in Melbourne reckoned he could make one but when I sent him the old cable he wouldn't go ahead until he got me to agree to accept it without the weights. He wouldn't ring a Cit mechanic around the corner from him & expected me to do an STD call from 1500 klms away to get the info & then ring him back, another 1500 klms call & then accept responsibility; allhe was going to do was make it & pick up the profit, so I told him to jam it. I have one for a standard 8V BX that I bought as one for a 16 but it just does not fit regardless of how you try.
I'd suggest ordering 2 for a 16V off Andyspares as I think they're about 13 UKPounds each plus freight etc but over here, I was quoted A$120 and if you've been following that thread on aussiefrogs relating to the guy who bought the 16V that was serviced by a "well known Sydney Citroen identity" he reckons the previous owner was hit about A$155 last year plus $300 labour to fit.
From all the enquiries I made, I think you'll find the 16V and the diesl have the same cable.
They are all pretty much the same at the pedal end so if you compare both your cars at the gearbox end, that should confirm it for you.
