What sphere is this?

Unread post by batbay »

Help please[:D]
My son picked up a couple of spheres for me on Friday from a mainland GSF (we live on the IOW). One is clearly correct, but the other, requested as N45372 anti sink sphere is actually described on the box/sphere as "SP 572 BX Front 85 ->55 BAR"
Correct or not[?]

Well N45372 is definately the correct number for an anti sink sphere, maybe the box has been wrongly labelled.
Can you tell me what writing is on the Sphere itself? Also, the antisink sphere has the extra threaded bit in the middle (for the hydraulic pipe) and a normal sphere will not have this, just the normal large thread.

Thanks for the reply Jon.
The writing on the sphere is as I put in quotes towards the end of my post.
I am not familiar with the look of the anti-sink sphere, but both spheres supplied are similar in number of connections. i.e. large one at the end, and a small cap at the opposite end, which may or may not be removable.

Further to the above, I have just looked at aussiefrogs pics "changing the xantia spheres" and the sphere in question looks similar to the one in the second to last pic - with a very small central hole.

If the Sphere itself (not the Box) is stamped SP572 then thats a BX front sphere.......... I'm a bit confused, if you say that its got the extra threaded hole in the middle at the bottom?
Do you want me to go and look at an anti sink sphere and take a photo of it?

Jon, I think it's the wrong sphere - since written on the box is "BX Front" as you suggest. I just thought that perhaps someone had selected that sphere from the shelf because it was compatible. Luckily my son has to go back to the mainland anyway!
Thanks for your help.
