3rd MOT with me and 3rd straight pass! :-D

Some advisories this year though, front suspension bushes (no surprise), front flexi brake pipes, and rear subframe mounts which will hopefully cure the rattles from the rear (I was suspecting the rear droplink).

Good value motoring - paid £900 three years ago! Sure, it has had a bit spent on it, but still nothing in comparison to what a newer car would cost in payments. On my longer runs to work now (together with some town running at weekend) I even get about 26mpg, which is halfway to reasonable!

Well done on the pass , recently had my Zx16v tested and the tester said how good it was underneath , what happened to your Zx Volcane ?

Hi. Thanks! Same with my garage - the guy said he isn't a big fan of Xantias, and is impressed with how good mine is. Said he sees lots of C5s falling to bits. I suppose it's like anything - it depends if you look after it!

I had to sell the Volcane because my wife couldn't get in and out of it when she was pregnant! Also wanted something a bit safer, with ABS and aircon. Although I considered it, there was no serious prospect of the Xantia going though. Had the Volcane for 6 years, and still miss it now - quick(ish), economical, comfortable (even though I'm 6'3"), fun to drive and compact, so easy to park.

I once nearly bought a 16v before the Volcane, but it never came off. They still look great to me, although the back wheels can look odd from some angles. Shame they're so rare. I remember a red one being for sale 4 or 5 years ago, and I was very tempted but skint...
