Those Volvo wheels look pretty great on your XM 8-)

Activas and XMs get along excellently, mine lives about half an inch from the side of our XM and they are smashing together! Sometimes literally if my dad has parked them

As it happens, these two can swap tips on how to be pretty much totally reliable...... oops, I've done it again haven't I?..... JINX?????

On the subject of those wheels, they are indeed Volvo 16". Needed new tyres on the front and these came up with good tyres on ebay..... £72 I got them for from just down the road from me. So less than the cost of 2 new standard tyres and MUCH cheaper than getting genuine XM alloys from WHM..... WITHOUT tyres..... Not really noticed any difference in ride but grip is much better..... although that's probably down to old tyres being nearly illegal!

Think they suit the XM really well. They're pretty much the same vintage as the car and I think I'm right in saying that the 850/S70 was a Bertone design too.....

Here's another pic of her with her new shoes.......

Robert,

You may notice there's a for sale sign in the window of the 9000....... £395...... has sold though. Very good price I thought.

He's a big Saab fan and has a 900 convertible too but is now on the lookout for a nice 9-5 I think.... Funny that I appreciate Saabs too. Something very cool about them..... Just like XMs!

£72 for 16" Volvo alloys with good tyres! Excellent value, I had no idea they would be that cheap. A guy at work has the appropriate Volvo 850 estate with those wheels, on the front only, the back has steelies. Ill tell him to get on ebay!

The Saab 9000 does have an appealing look about it, I do like those and a few other Saabs too. I tend to like Volvos more though! 8-[

I like the 9000, it looks cool, I was tempted to buy a 9000 Aero earlier this year.

I have a list of car marques in my head that I would consider owning, with no particular rationale behind it....... wonder if other people have the same ideas? Top of the list are:

Citroen (obviously)
Saab
Alfa Romeo
Jaguar

Can't ever imagine owning a Ford, Toyota, Vauxhall (except a VXR8 maybe!), Kia, Hyundai etc..........

It's a kind of automotive racism!

Id like to own an Alfa one day, not sure if ill be able to bring myself to it though! 159s look tempting 8-)

Jags im not keen on, but I do agree with the Saab idea.

On my list would be:
Volvo
Saab
Mazda (possibly)
Mercedes

There are many cars I like outside of those brands but as manufacturers (Frenchs ones still my top) they interest me.

They're not. Horrible bland, ugly old things. They are awful now and they were awful then. Age just makes them worse... About as cool as an active volcano...
