In answer to my own question yes I am a football fan but my team was being shown on Sky Sports which I haven't paid extra for
Are there many football fans on FCF?

Are there many football fans on FCF?
The reason I ask is that over the past two evenings with the return of the Champions League being on TV I've noticed that its been rather quiet on here until the games have finished.

I've almost abandoned actively supporting football in the last few years since getting back to playing Rugby. With the WC on now it's early mornings for me so tend to be tired duing the day.
It is helping to be able to catch up on some sleep in the evening with Liverpool taking a European sabbatical this season though.

As opposed to soccer, where the goal-scorer promptly lies down with his arms and legs spread then immediately has half a dozen sweaty blokes covering him?DickieG wrote:Rugby, good lord my mother always told me to stay away from "games" involving sticking my head up another mans bottom
More likely your mother was scarred by early Mapplethorpe photographs.

Fifteen? That's generous, they've run out of fingers long before then...
A Geordie I once knew came into the office looking really glum one morning.
"What's up Alan?" I asked
"Newcastle lost last night" he replied with a tear in his eye
"All well, it's only a game..."
I was genuinely lucky to escape with my life

Football is the biggest load of bollocks known to man, along with anything else involving balls, other than Citroens. Detest it and the moronic attitude it seems to instil in it's 'devotees', particularly when their chosen idiots lose a match and they have to cause mayhem to restore the balance.addo wrote:Not you, what?
When I was growing up, soccer was known as "wogball" due to its popularity with those of a Mediterranean origin...
OK, I appreciate it doesn't apply to everyone, but far too many for comfort.
I did go to a football match, once, 52 years ago and it was enough to last me a lifetime. Complete waste of two hours and five bob.
