Xantia central locking - will not lock!

'nother query on my new acquisition! New topic as I'm certain this is a common fault, but here goes.

If I lock the car with the key or remote it immediately unlocks. I recall my Dad's Xantia did this sometimes way back in 1997 and I'm sure someone said it was a common fault.

I felt it occurred mostly after I'd had the rear hatch open but now seems to do it randomly. I think the fault is in the driver's door.

Any ideas chaps?

I've come across this problem an a few Xantia MK 1's, each time the problem was resolved by removing then cleaning/spraying electric contact cleaner onto the block connector where it attaches to the lock. Every time the problem was been on the N/S/F door.

Try locking the other front door with the key. If it stays locked, then it is that one which is faulty.

I've got a problem with the boot and r/n/s door not locking with remote.

But will get round to checking all usual suspects

Resolved by changing the lock, easy enough job.
