Nigel's Church - Video.

Unread post by Citroening »

Just spotted this that was posted on the CCC Forum -

I spied his CX GTi Turbo (at 0:48) there but not the Axel's (he's apparently got two...).

I find it strange that Adamcit recently suffered a fair degree of adverse comments on forums about his collection of car's as if he is doing something wrong whereas Nigel Wild is almost revered for having a similar collection, especially as Andrew drives his car's on a daily basis whereas Nigel is the Citroen enthusiast who to my knowledge has not been seen in one for donkeys years and never at any of the CCC shows he goes to :?

I still don't think that "Nigel's Church" is right though and people have heard my opinion off of the public domain about it before. :-** Don't get me wrong though, Nigel is a very nice chap.

Dad made the offer to purchase his CX GTi Turbo (it said in a Practical Classics Magazine article that he would rehome some cars) on a strictly restore and keep (not to sell on, with Nigel having first refusal if that day came) basis but he declined. I know of someone that asked about one of his two Axel's - he declined.

I'm not 'for' Nigel's Church in particular, but just posted it up as I do find it interesting to say the least.

I agree though, I certainly haven't seen him in a Citroen...

I hope you don't think my comments were directed at you Franklin  if so please accept my apologies, they are my own observations on what I consider to be a very strange situation where a Citroen enthusiast has not been seen driving a Citroen for as long as anyone can remember, I've never seen Nigel in one in the fifteen odd years I've been a member of the CCC.

No worries Richard, :D I didn't think so.

I do agree with you though - it is peculiar. Apparently he's going to get a DS out for the ICCCCCCCR though! :o

I could make a lovely workshop of that place :D

We are a broad church, us Citroen folk. It seems some of us like to drive them, some of us like to lay spanners upon them (me), some of us like to show them, some of us like to polish them and most of us like to natter about them. And then there's those who seem to like to hoard them...

There's room for us all and whilst I don't even begin to understand the hoarding element I'm happy for each to their own. If I had that lot they'd all have to be spannered and the church made into a sort of museum...

I know something. I'd have to have at least a selection on the road and enjoy driving them...

Maybe Nigel's church is in the showground itself?

Some say Nigel is nearly a man and a half and that he has 726 cars...

Now we know how the figures of 1.466 people and 726 cars attending the ICCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCR has been calculated...

Doesnt Nige always drive his Gendarmerie Citroen Synergie ? Its what ive always seen parked up at shows ive been to....?

Wouldnt you love to have a church or barn full of this stuff though :P

I've only ever seen him in a very old brown US camper with three axles, the sort you'd see in a National Lampoons film
