When archaeologists dig up old aeroplanes, they routinely dump the engines into a bath of diesel for three months. Even after fifty years buried, the engine dismantles easily. Maybe a three monthly spray underneath one's Citroen would save a lot of grief later on?

I think the state of presevation and therefore ease of dismantling depends on what the plane came down in; no oxygen=no rust,: A bit like pre-historic bog-men.
I remember some years back the jubilee clip company running a competition for the oldest working jubilee clip; the winner came from a Merlin from a buried Hurricane if I remember rightly.
My BX drowns itself in oil anyway......it doesn't need any assistance...
