Stolen V6 Xantia

Post by RoyChristie »

today 08:55 my silver Xantia V6 was removed from my private road
in Ruislip Middlesex
Reg R759MVC
It had a blown engine but was otherwise immaculate with 6 months MOT, I was keeping it as donor for another I'm picking up this weekend
I could really do with getting it back as it is a full source of spares for my new one
All help appreciated

I really hate to say this but it could have something to do with the current price of scrap - are there any local scrap yards or buyers.

We get near £4000/tonne for brazery scrap, the price has not gone anywhere but up in the last 5 years i think, ferrous is still £120/tonne i think.

Check your local scrapyards at the soonest chance you get and dont just be looking for the car, keep an eye out for bits of it, very sorry to hear this has happened.

Hi Roy, sorry to read of the theft. So it was a blown engine after all?

Might be worth ringing local breakers and asking about parts for a Xantia V6, just as a ruse. If the breaker bites, go and check it out, then get le flic involved. Mind you, you will have done most of their work for them.

Any neighbours see what happened? Might be worth asking around.

From my experience with the stolen Pug. When you get in contact with the Police, make it VERY clear that when or indeed if they find the vehicle they are to LEAVE IT WHERE IT IS, and you will arrange to collect it.

The Police will not return a stolen vehicle to you free of charge. They will collect it for you and take it to an impound, where they will hold it for as long as they feel necessary, then charge you for the initial recovery and storage for every day that it was under their care. And after all that you'll still need to pay someone to tow it back to your house...

175 quid a ton up here for cars. Someone has just taken an easy 200 . Can't believe they are not on a camera somewhere.

Very annoying. Amazes me the crime and theft that goes on down south. It is very quiet up here in comparison.

round my way some *lovely* people have seen fit to remove all of the drains out of the road causing mayhem.

Less than impressed with that.

I'd do as above really, ring round and see if anyone has a v6 xantia pressure reg or something like that (so they can't fob you off with a 406 one).
