Car Transportation Bidding War!!!

As some of you may have noticed, I'm in negotiations to acquire this:

The problem is that having a dead gearbox, it's not very mobile so I firstly asked for bids on Shiply and then getting one offer who pulled out at the last moment I tried Uship.com.

The bid on Shiply would have worked out getting on for £300, not bad from Scotland to my place but on uship I have a bidding war going on..

Best price currently £165 just an hour or so after the listing started

At this rate they'll be paying me to ship the car...

Anyone used Uship in the past?

More seriously, so long as they don't gouge it's guts loading or offloading and know how to tie a hydraulic car down.

A person called Boeing727 is the current low bidder. Maybe he intends to fly it down here

I'm very sure the person at the other end of this transaction will show the transporter the 'ropes' if need be. The car is on service high already and that goes a long way to assisting in loading and unloading. The real danger comes when trying to load a car that's flat on its belly...

To be boring/serious for a mo' it's always my concern that many car carriers share or swap loads (here, at least). Hence more damage risk.

I pay a fair premium to retain a fellow who, once it's loaded, doesn't take the car off again until it's being delivered. After watching the terrible mishaps that befell a bloke here with his SM (whch incurred thousands in damage), that peace of mind is worthwhile.

Our chap has gone up Robert - used to be a £1 a mile but you can add another £20 or so onto the total nowadays.

If the guy is running back from scotland empty and you pay him £50 its £50 he wouldnt of had, just depends at what point they think its no longer worth the effort.
Looks like you should get it moved for a good price anyway Jim which is nice

That's booked. Uship.com seems to work well. Spoken to the chosen bidder and he's happy enough with the job. They do a weekly run up to Scotland.

The cheapest bid I had to reject as the condition was that the car had to be drivable. I stated very clearly in the bid that it was not but hey-ho..

So, it looks like the XM is on its way...
