First Renault to have??

Who can name some Renault models that had items that was a first for that car?
I THINK my Safrane V6 RXE had several firsts and a couple of toys Renault never used to this day,anyone name them?

The Renault 4 and 16 was said to have been the first hatchback family car. This is true to some degree, however Citroen introduced the hatchback on the Traction way before Renault - however this was sold as a commercial car and not a family hatch.

the Ren 18 Turbo, Ren 9 and 11 TSE First Gen, Ren 5 Turbos all had PLIP Infra red locking..

Wasn't that a first? Or did the CX beat them?

Well...
My Safrane V6 RXE was the first Renault to have...
Electric individual rear seats
Electric steering column
Computer control suspension
Climate control with individual setting for each side of the car.
Dipping N/S mirror when reverse was selected(think Vel satis had this later?)
Rear sunblind in parcel shelf
CD player as an option(phae 2 espace may of been first but not 100% sure)
Variable PAS
There are a few more but i can,t remember...
At one stage the V6 Safrane was the most expensive Renault for sale nothing was higher in price so i guess it had a few toys,but at the end when the V6 was the most expensive a lot of toys had actually been dropped and it wasn,t as loaded as when first launched,but thats another sorry that needs telling(but it will bore a lot of you!!)

Laguna II was the first car ever to achieve a 5 star EuroNCAP rating

It was the first Renault with a key card!
The first with tyre pressure sensors!
The first with automatic wipers!

The Mégane II was the first to have the Hands Free key card.

And no, the Vel Satis didn't have the dipping mirror when put in to reverse... but it should have!

This topic should prove that Renault are the superior car on this forum

Ive aways thought Renault to be the bravest First to introduce things to their cars... Renault 11 Electronic, 1983, were they? Electronic LCD Dash, Voice warning, RCL etc.

Mind you, didn;t Opel/Vauxhall beat them with the Reckord Top model, they had LCD dash's....

However, I dont find their DCi engines a superior engine to the HDi PSA unit...

The Ren 25 Dovrin engines were amazing, first fitted in the Ren 18.. They would do huge miles without fuss!

I had one of them, used to belong to a NUFC striker, his sister lives in the next street to me.
