It was meant to be... ;)

Very tempting :D

And I really like the colour too...

I quite fancy a private plate with FCF in it as well...

I love the colour and did ponder at first whether or not it IS actually Dante
in poor light! Sometimes it can look deep crimson on an overcast day but in
this case it's likely burgundy; coincidentally being seen a week apart from
another dark red Activa on ebay suggests it was another colour option.

Damn, I haven't got this colour in my set...

I don't think it is Dante red, looks a more deep maroon colour. I have seen many a Xantia in such a colour, quite unusual seeing an Activa in it.

Judging by the cars in the background, which all look their normal colour, it might rule out a poor camera and so that probably is the true Xantia colour.

Its a bit scuffed about and dinked mind.

My S2 Xantia brochure says Activa S2s were available in white - that is something I have not seem. Though I suppose in the late 90s white was not a popular colour.

I recall seeing a White Activa on eBay once although it didn't do anything
for me and I didn't keep a copy of the pictures.

Are you thinking of the dark maroon that was used on later s2's then
as the early maroon (like my k plater 2.0 16v VSX) is a lot darker again?

I still think that a bit of decent sunlight will totally alter the hue of this car
on eBay and because of the flip paint it's not inconceivable that it is good
old regular Dante! Guess you could prove me wrong by mailing the guy for
a paint code I suppose!

Oops - sorry Chris, believe I've ballsed your last reply using my iPhone!

Was posting this answer!

Possibly but at least it still lives to fight another day among the dwindling
numbers of the surviving few...

Mind, you really ought to get one of these v6 Xantiae that are floating
about ATM as they're supposed to be rare if it wasn't for the 4 or 5
knocking about! I've just got my s1 silver one MOT'd yesterday and all
is good! Tester was surprised it still had '87 vintage Michelin on the
back and it's showing 75k!!

 glad someone's more awake than I am. I've been in Cx mode a lot
this evening and my mind is still lapsed in the 80's!! Combined with lopping
a sentence off Chris's last message I believe it's time to call it a day. Of
course I meant 1997 Michelin; seems healthy enough so appears the car
has sat under cover all it's days as no splitting or ageing pains yet. Likely
hopeless in the wet mind.

Our 95 Xm estate had its original rear Michelins in 2009 when we got it, at 58K miles. They were quite cracked - the metal cords could be seem through the deeper cracks! They were soon binned in favor of some fresh Pirellis.

As for calling it a day, I wish I could, real pain when you cant sleep and need to be up at 6.00

...I don't think it's Dante - far too dark IMO. Looks similar to Roger's V6

Image

...I'm still contemplating buying it but I need to get rid of a couple of cars first!

What happened to Roger's Burgundy V6 Franklin?

A very desirable colour and very desirable having the LPG conversion too...
