Yes rear bumper was the S1 style.

Wish i'd been able to look at the interior, that would of told me if it was an S1 or S2.

I thought I was seeing things but no, it was a W reg!

Maybe it was registered late?
Possibly, I understand there was believed to be a small quantity of S1 1.9SD Xantias (thats the low pressure turbo 1.9 Diesel, otherwise known as the 'Slow Diesel') registered on V plates so if it was an SD then a W plater is quite possible...

I cannot recall the full story now but that's the gist of it... If the old memory is not playing tricks on me, these particular SD models, never popular, were quite early ones too...

Easy to convert the S2 SD's to full, simply add an intercooler, as they have a turbo on low boost, so add an intercooler and turn the blower up...

Early Mk.1 SD's had NO turbo thugh, so were even more SD then the S2 SD's....

Ive seen three C6s within the last week. One red one on Ireish plates, another dark blue parked in Guisbrough and another black one with wheels so dirty they matched the cars colour.

Other than that, its been a dull week for French car spots.

I saw a silver C6 today. Why do Citroen insist on giving this car black wing mirrors? Looks awful when the car is a light colour.

I quite like the black mirrors on the C6, seems to take away some of its visial width and they are gloss black not just naked black plastic.

I can't imagine it looking too bad, I think a lot of Xantias and XM came with black non colour coded mirrors.

I saw a silver Focus with orange mirrors this evening.

Looked ridiculous!

Your right, though that seemed more of a cost cutting exercise than an aesthetic thing. Quite a few S1 Xantias hadblack mirrors, I think only the VSX and Activa had coloured until the trim levels were upped towards the end of S1s ... but you know that :)

All S1 Xms hadblack mirrors but all S2s were coloured.

Orange is a funny colour. Nothing rhymes with it as a word but as a colour it goes with almost anything

The go-faster Focus (the model name escapes me at the moment) looks absolutely fabulous in orange despite not really being a pretty car to begin with...

Those DS3s at Wetherby had some orange appendages and they looked good...

But yes, orange mirrors. Indeed, an acquired taste maybe...

I would love an orange car, some day it might happen.

Orange does work with almost anything, though I dislike the craze of high lighting a few exterior car features with bright colours. Orange/green/pink etc door mirrors, wheels, badges etc

I wonder how an orange Xantia would look ...

I think your quite right

There are three cars I can think of which look decent in their standard bright orange:
Ford Focus ST
Fiat Grande Punto Sporting
Lotus Elise

Not sure how many other cars would pull it off.

I did very much like the DS3 with orange touches, very nice. If I was choosing my DS3, it would be bright yellow with matching bright yellow seats, perfect! 8-)
