the rear of my activa is leaning, with the passager side lower that the drivers.
both sides rise, but to mee it looks like the driver side is higher than normal.
(i'm just guessing, it might be that the other side is lower than normal, but it looks like the driver side is too high at normal and lowest settings)
any one have any pics on what i need to adjust?
also if it got a bad smack, would this casue it?

When were the control arms and bushes last replaced?
They wear and give inacurate adjustment to the roll corrector.
Are the roll corrector linkages lubed and free to move?
They can dry out and sieze.
What state is your rear ram bush? Get under and check it.

They all do it, to a small extent...
It's the fact that the roll correction is taken from the front wishbones and this serves for the rear too; there is no 'trim' available to adjust any residual lean from the rear and hence the effect. Tolerances and wear will worsen it and as said by Xac, wear in the ram bush can be the cause.
Is she properly level at the front and how does she look front and rear with the engine running and at correct height. Often the lean corrects more or less when running but appears soon after switchoff and after the suspension has sunk a little - which is also normal on an Activa, the emphasis being on just a little.

on flat level ground at normal height with engine running for a while it is clearly leaning at the rear, as though that wheel has not fully lifted.CitroJim wrote:They all do it, to a small extent...

the front is perfectly level.
the ram bushing seems okay, with no rattle.
everything looks free to move and smooth, so i think something may be bent?
maybe the ram is not in the correct position?
why?

you need the car on flat level ground, then measure from the floor to the top of the wheelarches to see whats going on.
The back cant be sat to cock and the front level unless the chassis is twisting.
Measuring usualy gives a better picture of whats going on and you will find the front is out too but not by much, probably just wants leveling out, most do i think.

should i be trying to get the front perfectly level to fix the back which is out by four inches?
i'll get it out on level ground and measure the heights so.
why?

4"!!!! that one hell of a lean, is the rear cylinder on that side returning much fluid (or holding any as the case may be?).
It seams with mine the lean was accentuated at the rear so 1/2" at the front was about 1" at the back.
Wasnt too bad to do at all really but ive still got the shuffles to sort out.

Ah, I did wonder it's fate as this is the only recent mention of it.
Activae are rather addictive to buy actually. Still think you should
shove a new HG on this first and get it running properly...
buying in and converting a HDi to fit is going to cost s**t more
than doing this ans just shoving the stuff from the green nozzle in.

dunno how to check tbh ... it rises and sinks okay (to my novice eyes)Deanxm wrote:4"!!!! that one hell of a lean, is the rear cylinder on that side returning much fluid (or holding any as the case may be?).

when it goes all the way down, seems like the other side does not sink enough ... so maybe the issue is the other side is too high?
why?

just to show how crazy i am i even considered this car - http://www.autoscout24.de/Details.aspx?id=ltmjwy2xoqxc
and i don't speak german
but back to topic:
i'll have a measure on flat ground tomorrow or so.
i jacked it up and checked for obvious damage leakage - but could not see anything.
car goes down, car goes up. when poking the anti roll linkage it seems to me that the car did not tilt as much as in the back either direction.
