XANTIA ACTIVA

Unread post by Dave40 »

I'm considering chipping in my trusty ZX reflex diesel against a Xantia Activa. Typical of Citroen, the Activa is full of innovative (read: EXPENSIVE to fix if it goes wrong) technology which I'm trying to weigh up against the performance/handling benefits.
I can accept the increase in insurance/running costs but would appreciate feedback on the chances of facing costly suspension repairs.

If you want the performance then they did the same engine in the estate but without the Activa suspension, which because of the lack of Activa bits is actually lighter. They do have hydractive which does a decent enough job for a big estate.
NB: In the UK the Activa was only available as a saloon with the 2.0 Turbo petrol engine. On the continent it was available in all kinds of combinations.
Look for a turbo CT or a 2.0 Exclusive petrol.
AS for running costs I get a steady 29mpg out of the estate unless I fit the roofbox.
Or do a search on the forum. There is a site dedicated to V6/Activa Xantias.
