Its amasing how costs of car maintenance mount up isnt it. Still, for 10/11 months of motoring it is a fair amount of money.

Though probably only similar to the depreciation on a new car, less in many cases, and you've got the privilege of driving a 'sinker'! 8-)

No, it shouldn't have been scrapped, keep it good and it will be here for a long time yet! :)

I think whoever owned the car before March 2010 had a lucky escape

I picked up the car today from the garage, and its also had a new handbrake cable and injector return pipes.

The temp gauge now reads 80 instead of just below 70 so new thermo did the job, new brake pads and discs on the front too (although brakes still squeal :x )

Yet to see if the rocker cover gasket has stopped the oil leak, I will have to check in the day light tomorrow.

The n/s/f brake caliper has been replaced (expensive!)

Fresh antifreeze :)

Its now up for sale, £150 if anyone is interested. Look on the For Sale and wanted.

If no interest it will have to be scrapped

What with all the money you have spent and recent repairs?

Seems drastic ...

The sinker has gone!

Just sold it to 'Xantia Colin', which he'll add to his growing collecton of Xantia's.

Well, i'm afraid it will be no more Xantia's for me.

I've owned 3 in the past 6 years and feel its time to move on.

I've got a VW Passat TDI 130 now, however I didn't go out of my way to find something non french, in fact I was looking at C4's and C5's, its just I came across the Passat which had low miles and a full service history for the right price.

I'd love to know how Xantia Colin is getting on with my old sinker, so if you're reading this then let us know! :D

Would like to see some picture's of it up in sunny Scotland

Well, it's been nearly 6 years and the Citroen bug has finally got the better of me.
I might live to regret this but I'm picking up a Citroen BX TZD 1.7 (J plate) on Saturday!
It's going to be a 'Sunday' car and will hope to take it to various car shows.
I'll post some pictures soon!
