Toby, Get a V12 the Rover V8 isnt that great compared to some of the competition
Although the rover unit is cheap and easy to get bits for.
It has to be done at some point

D
Dean I'd love to. It does have to be done at some point. Before they are consigned to the history books

The Jag XJS prices seem to have dipped recently. 5.3 V12 in them. I do still have a hankering for a V8 XJR though

I spotted a Wreg Xantia estate in silver 2.0HDi SX spec this evening. I caught up with it, it was bouncing along uncontrollably, obviously no or very little gas in its spheres, the rear was slightly high and the front slightly low. It was so stiff the tyres were bulging on every bump as they were the only give the car had. He wasn't driving it slowly either, maybe he thinks is sporty or something!

If the police saw it they would/should stop it for having dangerous suspension. I felt like stopping it myself and explaining

He must know its not quite right ...

I spotted a K reg Xantia today whilst driving home today.

A rare sight to see such an early one and it looked in pretty good condition too.

It looked like it was an LX or SX as it just had the standard wheel trims.

Being a K reg it has to be a sinker.

Or maybe not. Sadly there's a lot of neglected Xantias running around like this...

Not everyone who has a Xantia knows just how good they should ride and comparing it with a modern car they think it's still rather good despite the spheres being more like pancakes....

You watch how some moderns ride and really, there's not a lot of difference. I sometimes believe the concept of damping as been lost on many manufacturers these days

Maybe dampers are an optional extra these days; you know, like indicators on a BMW....

Those odd orange lights found at the corners of all german cars are a
peculiar fitment to signify that the driver, whilst oblivious of the terrifying
dangerous obstruction their vehicle is causing in the middle of the
pavement/one way street/pedestrian precinct, is in the vicinity at either
a nearby newsagent buying fags or collecting a nipper from the local school...

That is true I guess, also the fact sphere pressures decrease slowly so the owner might get used to the ride. Ive never seen any modern car ride quite this badly though. Its sure an MOT failure as it didn't seem to have movement at all.

Ive been in a Xantia which rode like that one, it was an experience! I complain at my friends for having lowered cars with no suspension travel, but that was much much worse.

Today I spotted a very clean S1 Xantia N reg in the light gold colour. I didnt quite catch the engine badge though.

I was next to an N reg Synergie Turbo D while I was in a crawling or stopped line of traffic on a slope. It was a tidy example in green with S1 15" Xantia wheel trims. The owner was using the clutch on the hill, albeit very badly, going forward a meter then folling back the same distance before catching it again on the clutch. The driver behind looked a little unnerved! Some odd drivers about.

That is usually my problem. See on average one a week but usually so briefly that I only get to see if it is a hatch or an estate and what colour it is.

Spotted a SERIES ONE BX this morning!

Literally nearly crashed the Meg trying to get a gawp at it. Heavy traffic otherwise I would've followed it!

Cherry red, in MINT conditon, driven by a Deirdre Barlow lookalike.

I WILL find it!

I saw a W reg Citroen Xantia today, but get this, it was a series 1 model!

I thought I was seeing things but no, it was a W reg!

Maybe it was registered late?

It was silver, the only thing that was s2 about it was that it had the clear lights at the back.

Apart from that it looked totally s1 :D

My guess would be that its a S2 with a lot of S1 body parts. Was the rear bumper the flatter S1 style too?
