Aaaaaaaagggggghhhhh goddammit

MOT this morning at 8:00am on the V reg Activa when an attempt was made
to make a longer term more honest car of it although I felt a red form was
likely the failure points weren't anticipated.

The weepy rear ram boot arose a comment but no hemorrhaging LHM so it
was mentioned as an advise [like I hadn't been thinking about nothing but it]
and the iffy rear flange of the centre silenser where it meets the rear box had
split where it had been stressed heaving the cat front flange doing the manifold
gasket was another advise under the joint paste - to be fair it is/was totally
leak free but sounds rorty!

No, the bleeding obvious which I missed as I've rarely driven the car:

O/S brake light innop
N/S main beam innop
N/S/F tyre elow limit [just down the centre in a overinflated styley]

Normally, they're cool about bulbs as one could pop turning out of the
centre and they know I'll fix them but the tyre was a no-no.

I know the tyre could potentially fail depending on MrMOTman's mood
but didn't realise a nasty gotcha waiting for me. Yep a locking Cit wheel bolt
an x3 alloys [not x4?] without the removal key! :x

I conceded defeat and left the car with the MOT garage to remove the duff
bolts which I'm told they've done but I didn't get back this evening in time
on the way home - fingers crossed the damage to my wallet and alloy rim
aren't too bad!

Not a bad MOT all things considered - I have a decent brand tyre on a
correct alloy to alleviate any further wallet damage.

Well, while it might be a little annoying it failed on such trivial things, its excellent that its near to a pass.

Is this the Activa you speak of in the other thread, a newly acquired one?

I dare not ask how many you have now ...

Have you one of each colour yet?

Is your new one a sunroof or no sunroof model?

Will this close to MOT Activa be your daily, or one of?

Regular runner which will fill the Activa shaped void in my life after some
bastards took my other Mauritus blue car late last year; guess it won't be
any worse than the frankly disappointing fuel return on my daily use Xant
V6 - my other 'dead' v6 is so much better in it's whooomph and yet it's
fuel economy too which I guess is helped by the low mileage it has.

Must try and nail it's problem as I do miss it dearly - surprisingly, I also
prefer the original car's black leather and an now seriously considering
trailering it nearly 250 miles to Hertford for some BL Autos magic as per
Sid's success on the GreenGoblin.

No specific info on new Activa - my pal who likes Cits has it and hasn't yet
given me the full spiel. It's a late s1 AFAIK.

Activa passed and I'm 120quid the poorer for the removed lock bolts,
a new tyre and their time sorting the replacement bulbs! Yay anyway!!

I think walking away with the x3 failures for them to sort yesterday
and returning to collect the car legal for that price isn't too horrific
TBH although the tyre isn't a top brand being the best the garage had
in the time they could work on the car; yes, it would've been nice to
have had more options but I missed them yesterday and I never got
the promised phone call! :? I'm not too bothered and thus isn't a rant
as it can live with it as a spare if I don't like it.

To be fair, they even fitted correct replacement wheel bolts too before I
gave them spares I took in. I must MOT around 8-10 cars a year there so
they were being keen to help.

Quick note to any moderators reading this - can it be put in the blogs which
was actually the intended section yesterday; For Sale is a bit obliqué!?
