Xantia Activa

Unread post by froggy »

I"ve just seen the nice Activa , for sale on ebay , only 12 miles away but petrol ! Probably a very silly question , but, is there such a thing as Activa Diesel , or only petrol ?
thanks Terry

On the Continent they were available with many engines, including both IDI and HDI diesels and the V6 to name a couple.

Here in the UK we only had the 2.0 TCT. There are a couple of UK Activas that have been transplanted with the V6 to make a RHD Activa V6. Some have toyed with the idea of fitting a diesel engine but, as far as I'm aware, none have actually done it yet.

Would a 1.9TD do the Activa any justice? Given that a few say even the 150bhp TCT isnt near enough ....

A 2.1 or HDi 110 would probably be slightly easier as they already use the ML5T box just with different ratios to the TCT.

i would say its got to be the 110 and heavily tuned to make it work, ive been out in a 110 pug 406 today and then jumped in the activa to come home and the 406 is slooooooooow in comparison but then my activa is tweaked and the 406 isnt so that widens the gap a little.
dont think a 1.9idi is a good idea though....................

Ultimatly if your going to go through all that effort it has to be a V6 though.
