(I can and do run 100% no probs.. but as I am not the main driver I advise adding some diesel to help the idling a bit)

In answer to your other post, if it's still online I'll see if I can post the link.

And I'm sure you're aware, the XUD has a built-in pre-heater below the fuel filter? Otherwise, no additional heating, no.

I'm sure I don't know what you're getting at 8-)

But thought I'd best start another thread to stop going too far off-topic here...

It's my thread anyway, and most threads I contribute to or start elswhere always seem to eventually wander around randomly.

Right. This Xantia in Exeter is seemingly ready for inspection. New piccies and description.
Supplying dealer +1 owner, 69k, loads of history, old mot's and receipts.
Notice it's got rear oap help sensors fitted too!

No mention of air con which is a bit of a blow, so I assume it hasn't got it.

I may drive down there tomorrow I think.

Just to chuck a spanner into the mixer, this has appeared on Autotrader now.
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p

Anyone in here running such a beast with this conversion?
I know precious little about LPG, other than it seems to be following the general rising prices of all fuel in general. Still only abot 70-80 p a liter though

A piccy of and the wherabouts of the tank and general interior would have been helpful.

Just re-reading this ad.
90 litre tank? Thats about 20 gallons I think isn't it?
Must be taking up the whole load area virtually.

The main problem is small tank capacity, I can get to the north of Scotland and about a third of the way back on a tankful in my 2.1 XM, you would have to fill up several times to do that on LPG and I doubt it would work out any cheaper as the MPG is less than on petrol.

Gone off the idea. These conversions are a bit of a mystery to many....and me.
Anything goes wtong, and you're a bit stuffed, expensively I reckon.

Carting a monster 90 litre tank around in the boot doesn't sound too attractive either tbh.

Going back to the performance thing, there is only so much performance you can ideally use on the public roads. Having something so quick that as soon as you go near the loud pedal is hitting silly speeds might seem fun, but is it really?

I mean on a good country road, that is winding and nice to drive, I prefer a car with 'enough' power, something which you can drive hard and get the best from the car, while staying at a reasonable speed rather than a silly one. Reasonable speed to me is probably higher than officials would like you go go, but its better than having to do very high speeds to get the same enjoyment. Much more enjoyable driving that way in my opinion.

Plus something which is effortlessly quick often makes bad drivers. Which is why I think everyone should have a 1.0-1.2 car as their first, they teach you so much.

Do you have a link to the low mileage Xantia, have i missed it of are you just keeping it secret?

I have in the past fancied a VRS Fabia and have looked at a few, but never got round to driving one. Ive driven an Ibiza Sport with the same 130 PD engine, which was very lively but had less suspension movement than a Tescos trolley! VRS SE is a good looking car though.

Are you planning on the Xantia as a replacement for your VRS or as a second car?

Nah Chris. I'll dig the link out, but if I catch anyone nipping down there ahead of me and nicking it from under my nose, they'll get an infestation of man eating fleas down their undies!

Talking of 'the vRS and tuning, did you see that post of mine on Mikes new thread?

The vRS SE is going to become a future classic, as is the standard model that I've got....well I reckon so anyway..

 I did that with the Xm we bought, posted the link on the XM forum and then got nervous so hit the BiN button  Glad I did!

That is some serious torque, quite amasing the 1.9TDi what can be done with them. My uncle has just got his 130 TDi Audi A4 Quattro remapped, its spat its dummy out though, so far three things have failed in the few weeks its been remapped. EGR needs replacing now, it quickly developed a boost leak and the exhaust blew too.

Your possibly right, the VRS might well make classic status. And its quite a reliable/uncomplicated thing, so it might well live to see it!

Precisely, and that's why I have no intention of selling it.
The first one I had re-mapped and it was absolutely mental if you hoofed it...which obviously you had to sometimes.
Wheel spin in 3rd!
As stated earlier, I reckon it was that that knackered both the gearbox and the clutch.
It was an unlucky car that anyway, so got rid of it.
Had it keyed twice, two windows smashed by a scumbag who broke in to steal 3 cd.'s, and finally someone drove into it ripping the front bumper off, and then doing a runner.
Current one is virtually standard and adequate....and exceedingly economical too.
