xsara picasso 2004 2.0 HDi
Hello
I have just bought this car and the previous owner isn't 100% sure when they had the timing belt done.
I am fed up with doing timing belts as my Peugeot 406 1.9 TD took me two days over Christmas so was thinking of getting it done by a garage. Can it by trusted to an independant or should I stick with Citroen. How much am i looking at (including water pump and auxialiary drive belt at the same time)

Parts probably £125 - £150, 4-5 hours labour, so £200-£250 depending on where you are, so potentially not much change out of £400. Which is why I did my Xantia belt a few weeks ago: http://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/v ... hp?t=33939
Change interval is 10 years / 100k so may not be due yet on an 04 car

I wouldnt and dont bother with dealers for cambelt changes, failry simple and basic service item which most garages should be able to do. There are so many cars around with the 2.0HDi engine so chances are most garages will have done one already.
The interval is 100K or 10 years, but i dont like getting too close to that. I had my 04 C5 2.0HDi done at 75K miles.
