TCT 2.0i [Xm] fluctuating CO = fail!

Hi Andrew,

We just had the same problem with a 4.6 Range Rover today.

2 tubs of fuel treatment in the tank, an oil and filter change and the hardest thrash it's had in years seemed to cure it according to the little Gunson Exhaust Gas analyser we bought.

It's going back on Wednesday for it's retest.

Might be worth a try!

So, you guys questioning the cat and/or the sensor were spot on!!

Well, to complete this story it has been resolved and passed with
very healthy emissions figures. Thank God for that!

The manifold main gasket was renewed after much back bending and
extreme mutterings. Whilst I was dropping the downpipe of the cat I
took the opportunity to plug a replacement cat with it's lambda onto
the car as I had nothing else left to try or rule out. Hey ho, now I'll be
looking for a cat on the temporary donor as the removed one off the
'trouble maker' MOT fail car seems to have it's internals breaking up so
a sure goner.

If anyone sees a 2.0i TCT Xm cat please give me a shout if it's being
scrapped of a car. May need to bite the bullet and splash out 150quid
on a new pattern cat and sensor when that requirement presents itself.

Ive got a 1.8i 8v Xantia Cat andrew!!! Could you not Cut and Weld it into the XM pipe???

The car had done only 85k, when I did the DERV conversion. Would that one be any good for you??
