thanks, guys that helps me a lot ... now i know that is not an easy way of getting the seller to confirm it is a 110hp HDi, back to the drawing board ...

Yes there is :D Ask him how many big pipes pass next to the airbox.

Two of them and it's a 110...

i did that!!! i got told two but when i got there, there was only one!!! :shock:

can some one post a pic of a 2.0HDi 110hp engine pic and one of the 90? then i can send it to people and say "is that your engine?"

They'll just say yes as they look almost identical. I would say ask for the VIN but I can understand people being wary of that so explain that the 6th, 7th and 8th digits represent the engine code and ask them for those digits only. As you know, its stencilled under the bonnet on the wing or its on the V5.

I have this one of a 110 bhp, earlier HDi's won't have the front engine cover, the additional pipe is between the main engine cover and air filter.

The metallic blue bit on the clutch pipe is probably as good an indication as anything.

Mind, someone with a HDi 110 who see's this picture may not realise
the covers are their model if they've gone awol! The blue clutch feed
pipe is a good call!

i'm going to circle the second pipe and have arrows pointing to it, just to be sure :) the clutch pipe might need to be a second option :)

any where really :) need a hdi activa soooo bad now ..... costs over 100 quid to fill a petrol one >:(

if you come across on in ireland .... let me know .. all i need is a good working engine with a good gearbox :)

those are not activas ... well the red ones are not ... one is 1.9td and the other is a 2.1TD
i have no idea what the silver and blue ones are .... the guy asks for mad money for some parts ...
