Fbat had it's AEI alien autopsied to see what made it tick and was (-expletive removed-) up in the process I believe :) an electronics engineer couldn't fathom what it did and declared the conversions as a err hoax..

...you're the second person Neil to say that about FBAT's AEi as a chap that was looking for a Maikonics Kit for his Turbo 2 who enquired about one that my dad had for sale (the one that's now on G530 XDP), said it was no good.

Strange though that I was told that it was "all ok" by the owner when I enquired about it last October..:?
, yes to AEi ,  and wastegate- I have opened up AEi to confirm and also to test delay for nos
...who knows?! :?

Anyone got any tips on changing the gearbox oil (its a manual)?

I'd also be grateful if someone could tell me what oil specification i need & how many litres & how often does it need doing? If the car hasn't been used much, does it still degrade & so its still worth doing a change or not?

Cheers

A reminder check throws up an official Cit manual reccommendation of
TOTAL EP SAE 80 W/85 W - total capacity of 1.7 litres with a capacity
after draining of 1.6 litres. Difference between min / max on dipstick
0.150 litre (1/4 pt).

Personally, I'd concentrate on the engine oil and leave the gearbox alone!
These may be a bit rough'n ready but rarely give trouble, are a sealed
circuit (unlike Xm, Xant etc which have wet driveshafts) and are built like
the proverbial brick 'outhouse'. :D

I'd expect the oil to be fine but checking the level is a bit hit or miss so
something you could do in your ownership of the car. If it selects Ok and
doesn't whine, I'd just consider it after other more important things like the
spheres, exhaust, oil and filter, handbrake (inevitability) and rust
protection go first!!

If i need to get replacement tyres (its got the original Turbo alloys fitted) whereabouts can i buy these non standard types from, or is it more economical just to buy some modern replacement alloys instead with tyres, which will work out cheaper in the long run?

...the proper 210/55/390 Michelin tyres cost £250 per corner, so I doubt you'll be wanting them!

You can get Alfa wheels that fit CXs, which have the more conventional tyres - you can opt for the 15/16 or even 17 inch ones too.

Watch out for the width of them though, as if they're extra wide then some modification is needed to the inner arches.

...also, if you keep the standard T-slot wheels, you'll no doubt have to get them refurbed due to standing.
