Apparently me and my dad were the first to know about the venue change when we met Mick yesterday

Harrogate is a great venue, much better facilities than the Pickering location, more hotels, places to eat, shops etc. Harrogate is a very nice area.

Really looking forward to it ...

...well that's good for me as it's a bit nearer!

About a 150 mile trip but it'll be worth it...don't know what car I'll have then though!

The only cars i can guarantee we will still have that time next year is the 6H and the C15, so that is what we are taking. My dad will be there in the Traction and me in the C15.

Ill have my C5 still then, but might as well take something a bit different.

It's a shame that it's so far away, otherwise we'd probably take about 10 Citroens, including Rosalie.

I'll drive one up and probably spend the whole week there, but dad'll probably come for the one day. It'll probably be CGOO, but I may have finished a new 'project' by then though...!

Hi,
Just wanted to "chip in" to clarify:

The 15th ICCCR will only charge for 1 vehicle per "family" - all additional vehicles are free (Provided that they are registered/owned by the same family).

Just to let you know that Debra and I are registered for ICCCR 2012 but of course we are not able to bring any of our Cits all the way from Australia. The damned lottery office keeps forgetting to phone!

Anyway, we are both experienced in driving a range of Citroens and would be willing to pick up someone else's car in the UK and drive it to the event and back if it all can be made to work. We have owned in the past a BX and XM and currently own a D Special and CX 25ie Auto and C5 X7 exclusive.

Vehicles one or both of us have driven in the past include: Traction Avant, GS, 2CV, Xantia, H Van, SM. Unfortunately Deb's back is not up to travelling in a 2CV though. We are both able to drive LHD vehicles.

We would be willing to cover additional reasonable insurance costs and fuel for the vehicle and maybe a fair usage cost.

I am able to undertake most roadside repairs if a modest toolkit is available.

We both have clean driving records and if required would be able to provide documentation to support this fact.

I am a member of CCCUK too.

I see this as a way for a Citroen owner in the UK to get another of their beloved vehicles to ICCCR 2012 and a way for us to become "more involved" as our experience at 2008 was "if you're in a modern Citroen, park over there and we'll just pretend we can't see it". We tourist leased a C4 and it felt like being the fourth cousin at a large wedding... If you get my drift.

I have made enquiries with various UK Insurance companies about the insurance of Non-UK nationals in privately owned cars.

Unfortunately, the response was a big "No No"!

I guess the next step would be to contact respective motoring organisations (the Automobile Association and the Royal Automobile Club to see if they have a solution to the Insurance problem).

Is there anyone on the forum who would like to research this with these organisations - unfortunately, my cup overfloweth!

I think it is important you make this info public (and acknowledge that you have told me privately). When we borrowed a car from a friend in 2004 there was no problem in us being listed.

Times have changed I realise.

Far away no its not far away. Interlaken now that was far away; 3 days and 1 1/2 tanks of fuel in a 1.9 TD xantia. Come to think of it Rome wasnt near either..especially as we went by train, boat and over night sleeper train...

Are you the same Craig Keller who wrote in this months Citroenian about the DS3/trip around France? If so a very good review. I

I dont know if its relevant but we intend on taking two cars to the ICCCR (see signature) if so there'd certainly be room to give you a lift or something. Don't know how practical it would be as it would depend on where you were staying etc.

In any case im sure there must be someone out there who could give you a lift? Just a thought as it would get around any legal issues with you driving and has to be better than arriving on public transport...

After talking with a 2CV owner who gave into the shop yesterday to buy some bits, i figured id best get on with ordering a ticket for this.

I cant book one yet though as its £80!!! Im presuming this is a supply and demand increase?

Mt question is this....if i cant book a ticket until perhaps say March / April, will there be any left....and what will the price be then?

I want to attend definately, but i cant justify more than £80 for a ticket.

I'd like to go out of curiosity and to look at some old Cits. However..

a)It's in Harrogate.
b)I'm not paying £80 for a five day ticket when I know I won't spend more than a day there.
